Characterful rental property

The brief for this two-floor rental property south of Bath was to create something a little different that would stand out from the crowd – stylish and comfortable, yet practical and durable. Working with a contractor, we stripped everything back, reconfiguring the kitchen and bathroom to create a more open plan living space.

Downstairs we chose neutral Scandinavian styling for a calming living area, and the odd pop of colour for some personality. Panelling to the walls, and adding a log burning stove with chimney breast, give it a warm log cabin feel perfect for a cosy getaway.

Upstairs we worked with limited natural light and used a palette of blues with pops of yellow to give the bedroom a cocooning but playful feel. We added some vintage furniture to give it character, and artwork from a local artist.
